1) What attracted you to the Corgi breed?

Their short little legs. I remember I saw a Corgi for the first time at a park once and I immediately fell in love. I began to do research and found that a Corgi would fit perfectly in my home. They are very smart, funny and judge your every move.

2) How did you end up with Ollie and Butler?

Ollie – A few years ago I started following Art the Corgi on Instagram. Art had puppies and they were trying to find them homes, so I reached out regarding Ollie but I was told that someone had already claimed him. A few days later, they reached out to tell me that Ollie was available again and rest is history.

Butler – We knew we wanted to add a second Corgi to our family so we started to do research online to find a breeder. We were lucky enough to find Butler after a few months of searching. He came to us from Missouri a few months ago.

3) How would you describe their personalities? Are they very different?

Each of the boys have their own personality and they’re very different. Ollie is such a quiet, calm, serious, cuddling corgi. Butler in the other hand, he is our wild child. He loves to talk, will eat everything he can find and does not have an off button.

4) What are the perks of owning two Corgis?

They keep each other entertained, play together and the best part is that they love to please you by doing tasks or tricks for you.

5) What does an average day look like for Ollie and Butler?

Ollie starts his day first around 6am, I take him on a small walk just to spend some alone time with him and focus on some training. Once we return, we wake up Butler and the craziness begins. Butler likes to start his day with a morning “awooo” and won’t stop talking until breakfast is served. After breakfast it’s nonstop play for a few hours. Afterwards, I like to put them in separate rooms for naps (1-2 hours) while I work. Once the sun goes down, I take them to the park so they can run off leash and I do some training with them. Once we get home, its bed time. I brush their teeth, clean their paws and my partner likes to sing them a bedtime song before their night ends. It usually the “Itsy Bitsy Spider” song, haha.

6) Are Corgis smart dogs?

Yes – they very smart to the point that they will try to outsmart you. We taught Ollie to go pee on command. One time, I took him out and told him to go “potty,” he walked up to a tree, lifted his leg for less than a second, turned around, and started walking back thinking that I didn’t notice. He does this often but never gets away with it.

7) Do Corgis make good family pets?

I think Corgis are such loving pets and can get along with kids perfectly. We don’t have kids of our own but we have friends with little ones and the boys love to play tag with the kids.

8) Do Corgis need a lot of exercise?

Corgis are known to become overweight very easily so we have to ensure our Corgis are getting daily exercise. Also, exercising is good to ensure your Corgi doesn’t get bored easily and start to destroy things.

9) What are the common questions you get asked about Ollie and Butler?

The most common questions we get asked are:

“Why does Ollie have a tail?”

Some people don’t believe us when we say that neither of the boys are mixed.

Learn to be patient! Stay consistent with your posts and interact with different accounts. Overall, just have fun with it and don’t get discourage if your account isn’t growing as fast as you want.

Corgi pros and cons

• Pros – They are small/medium sized dogs that are very smart and don’t require a big house to thrive. Lastly, they are so freaking cute!

• Cons – They shed a lot! They are also not a cheap breed to take care of and can bark all day if you let them.
