We’ve always known about the Mini Schnauzer breed, but didn’t research them in depth until we were deciding on what breed to get for our next puppy. We were looking for a versatile dog that is apartment-sized, could easily adapt to city living, and is high energy so we could bring him along with us on adventures.

2) Why do you think Mini Schnauzers are so popular?

Mini Schnauzer are popular because they are the perfect size, are very smart, and love to be around their people. Mini Schnauzers have the potential to be a good fit for first-time owners because they are easy to train and have moderate exercise needs. Because they are intelligent, they can be stubborn at times, but would still make excellent first pets with dedicated training during the first couple months of their lives.

We can’t speak for all Mini Schnauzers, but Mushu is quite picky when it comes to his meals. He will eat any treat given to him but will sometimes refuse his kibble. This is one of the many reasons why we decided to switch to a raw diet, and Mushu has been loving it ever since!

Some pros of Mini Schnauzers are that they are affectionate, intelligent, and love to cuddle yet always ready for adventure. They also make good watchdogs while still being polite with strangers. Some cons are that they can be stubborn and some may have a high prey drive that requires training.
