10 Fitness Influencers Who Love Dogs

We all need a workout buddy from time to time.

While you may pick up the phone to call a friend to the head to the gym, nothing beats working out and spending time with your dog.

Exercising with your dogs can be a rewarding experience as you further strengthen the bond between you and your pooch.

Whether it’s going for a run on the beach with blue skies and the sun on your back, or embarking on a challenging hike up a steep hill, dog can make great fitness buddies.

While dogs love to exercise, you can’t beat cuddling up with your beloved canine in front of the TV on the sofa after a hard workout. They’re love a cat nap as much as humans!

It’s little surprise that some of the world’s most popular fitness influencers often share snaps of their dogs to their millions of followers on Instagram.

In this article, we’ll take a look at some of Instagram’s biggest female fitness influencers and their dogs to shed light on the incredible bond we all have with our pets.

1) Michelle Lewin (@michelle_lewin)

With an incredible 13.4 millions followers on Instagram, Michelle Lewin is one of the most popular female fitness influencers. The Venezuelan fitness model is a big dog lover but has experienced some tough months in 2019. Her lost her 12-year-old black dog Micho at the end of January. Unfortunately tragedy struck when her pup Michi passed away in March. Given her clear love for dogs, Michelle could be spotted with another dog on her social media accounts soon.

Jen Selter’s aptly named dog Gram has some work to do to overhaul his famous mom. Jen has a massive fanbase of 12.7m followers on social media. Gram’s gram has nearly 30,000 followers on social media, which isn’t bad for a dog! Gram even likes to work out with his fitness obsessed mom from time to time, providing some weighted resistance when it comes to core exercises.

3) Kayla Itsines (@kayla_itsines)

Aussie fitness model Kayla Itsines is definitely a dog lover. Her feed is interspersed with snaps of dogs – most of which aren’t even her own! The 27-year-old does own two magnificent huskies called Ace and Junior. Speaking about her dogs on Instagram, she said: “They love ‘helping’ me with my workouts. I have so much respect for women who can workout at home around their kids and animals, you ladies rock!”

4) Lauren Drain Kagan (@laurendrainfit)

Lauren Drain Kagan is clearly a talented lady. Her bio reads: registered nurse, certified personal trainer and bikini pro. She failed to mention that she’s a dog enthusiast – too. She incorporates dogs in her workout, which we love to see. Using her bulldog for squads, Lauren offered a dog tip to her 4 million followers: “If your dog is chill & the size of a nice kettlebell, you can create a fun backyard or poolside circuit.”

5) Emily Skye (@emilyskyefit)

While Emily Skye doesn’t have a dog of her own, she’s a big fan of our favourite four-legged companions. With 2.5 million followers on Instagram, Emily regularly poses for a snap alongside a dog on her trips around the world. The fitness model explained to one of her followers why she doesn’t have a dog of her own: “I’m not allowed pets in my apartment sadly so I have to borrow other people’s dogs!”.

A law student and a personal trainer, Danielle Robertson, aka Danibelle, loves to work out with her dogs. Perhaps not ideal when it comes to filming fitness videos for her Instagram page, you can’t deny her two dogs are cute. Not only they do have an appreciation for her fitness workouts, but Danielle often matches outfits with her pups. Next level!

Rachel Brathen is better known as Yoga Girl on Instagram. She is the creator of #yogaeverydamnday. When she’s not enjoying some yoga and feeling zen, Rachel can be found spending time with her dog, Ringo. Her love for dogs runs a little deeper. She runs an animal rescue organisation called Sgt Pepper’s Friends.
