It’s no secret that Britain loves dogs.

The United Kingdom is a nation of dog lovers, which is reflected in the many canines that can be found all over the country.

Although places such as California are renowned for being dog friendly, London is just as welcoming as some big American cities with a plethora of options for pet parents.

The rise in popularity of Instagram has inevitably led to some dogs achieving social star status on the photo-sharing app.

Instagram provides a platform for these famous pooches to spread awareness about a breed, shine a spotlight on beautiful areas of the country or help give information about dog friendly hotels, pubs and restaurants.

In this article, we’ve taken a look at some British dogs that are causing a stir on Instagram. From Dalmatians to Labradors, Alaskan Klee Kai to Siberian Huskies, and Wolfdogs to French Bulldogs, here are some UK dogs (in no particular order) that you need to follow on Instagram.

The Girl Pack (@blackwhite.gold) is made up of Ella (Golden Retriever), Dolly (Cocker Spaniel) and Jeanie (Border Collie Poodle mix). The gorgeous trio have been featured three times on Instagram’s page. With a photographer mom, their profile is awash with original and thoughtful photos in a variety of different locations. One of the biggest British dogs on Instagram in terms of following, Dolly Pawton (@dolly_pawton) is a little Chihuahua based in London. This elegant lady is an expert when it comes to fashion, travel and lifestyle. Dolly is an activist within the LGBT community. She’s even got her own column in Marie Claire.

Another little dog with a sizeable following is Lilliput (@lilliput.the.maltese). A vain and needy model dog, Lilliput has been featured in BBC, River Island and NowTV ads.
