Spot & Tango – The Basics
Spot & Tango are a dog food delivery company looking to help pet parents feed their pets a balanced and nutritious diet to protect their long-term health.
Their website claims that their recipes can help dogs to live better and longer lives. Spot & Tango believe using fresh and locally sourced ingredients will benefit your four-legged friend.
You won’t need to worry about any artificial ingredients, cheap fillers, additives or preservatives. What you see is what you get: whole ingredients such as lean proteins, fresh fruits and veggies and high quality carbohydrates sourced from local farms.
Spot & Tango customise their meals to meet your dog’s specific requirements based upon the information that you provide in their questionnaire.
With a range of recipes formulated by animal nutritionists, you can have peace of mind knowing that your picky eater is getting vet-approved nourishment.
Their website says that they offer sustainable delivery direct to your door. So that’s eco-friendly packaging to keep your dog’s meals in great condition.
While my experience with dog food delivery companies makes me believe that all dogs will love the change from dry food to fresh meals, if your dog doesn’t approve, they’ll return your money. That’s their 100% happy pup guarantee.
How Spot & Tango Works
When you land on the Spot & Tango website, you’ll be asked to enter some key details about your dog using their proprietary questionnaire. This will allow them to tailor their meals to meet your dog’s needs.
Having found the perfect meal plan for your pup’s requirements, Spot & Tango will cook your dog’s meals using fresh fruits and vegetables as well as locally sourced, high quality protein. No additives or fillers here!
Your dog’s meals are shipped direct to your doorstep. You won’t have to worry about weekly trips to the supermarket or pet store.
Their website claims that with a taste, texture, and smell they can’t resist, even the pickiest pups find themselves licking their chops. All sounds good but lets take a closer look at their recipes.
If you’ve got picky dogs like me, you’ll understand the importance of having a variety of recipes to select from. Even if your dog loves their fresh meals, it’s good to keep them guessing.
Spot & Tango offer pet parents a choice of three different recipes for their dogs.

So you’ve decided to invest in a dog food delivery company. Having dug a little deeper into your pockets to ensure your pup is getting a complete and balanced diet, you want the experience of feeding them to be hassle free.
Spot & Tango use vacuum-sealed pouches to store each individual pre-proportioned meal. So you won’t have to worry about getting the scales out or trying to figure out how much to feed your four-legged friend.
You can store enough pouches in your fridge to use in the coming days while the rest go in the freezer. When it’s time to serve, you could run under lukewarm water to warm the meals before emptying the contents into your dog’s bowl.
Spot & Tango add on their website that their pouches are certified BPA-free, food-safe pouches (absent of phthalates and other plasticizers).
Price And Delivery
So Spot & Tango provide a premium service so you can expect to pay a premium price. While it may require a little extra budgeting, the hope is in the long run, you’ll have a healthier dog, meaning less trips to the vet.
The cost of your Spot & Tango meals will vary depending on the size of your furry companion. The price is generated based upon the age, weight, activity level and other details entered in the questionnaire. They work out how much food is required to fuel your dog.
As we mentioned above, Spot & Tango’s meals arrive in their eco-friendly packaging on a regular schedule. They use insulation to keep the packages cold and they can dissolve in your sink.
So not only is your dog getting some nutritious food, but you’re doing your bit for the environment too.

What Are Customers Saying?
Spot & Tango have a review section on their website full of five-star testimonials. We were unable to find reviews elsewhere online but we will update if we do.
One customer with a “historically” horrible eater was thrilled with their meals:
Kyrie has historically been a horrible eater and she loves Spot & Tango. when I take the package out of the fridge, she spins and dances around waiting for the food to hit her bowl! Thanks to you, meals are no longer stressful because she eats!
A customer called Mary gave Spot & Tango a big paws up having tried some of their competitors previously:
I have tried three other dog food delivery services. Spot & Tango is Millie’s favorite! She is so excited for her meals (and wasn’t with the others). Her coat looks amazing and she has no stinky breath! Two thumbs up to Spot & Tango!
Finally, a rescue dog owner said they were impressed with the positive impact on her pooch:
We adopted a rescue dog who was struggling to gain weight. After trying different types of dry food we found Spot & Tango. She now gets excited for mealtime and has maintained a healthy weight. Her coat is so shiny and the change to her health is visible We are so thrilled with the quality of this product and will be lifelong customers.
Like we said above, Spot & Tango, just like every other dog food delivery company, provide a quality service that isn’t necessarily the cheapest option when it comes to feeding your dog.
So you’ll need to be smart with your budget if you’ve decided to sign up such a subscription service. However, if your dog is happier and healthier, it could be worth the extra investment for you.
You will need to be economical with freezer space to store your dog’s meals. Whether you sign up for bi-weekly or monthly deliveries, you’ll need to be smart about using freezer space. Perhaps it could encourage pet parents to eat fresher too!
We recruited a special taste tester called Roenick to try out Spot & Tango. He’s a nine-year-old Pitbull Boxer mix who has been a picky eater in the past.
His owner Lauren was initially skeptical about whether Roenick would like these meals given his fussy tendencies in the past. However, he loved the meals.
Lauren was impressed by the packaging, especially since the food was still frozen. The box wasn’t damaged or wet. She also appreciated the guidelines provided in the box – how to dispose of the box, the step-by-step instructions, and portion sizes were very helpful.
In terms of serving the meals, Lauren found this process very simple. Unfreeze the meals a day before in fridge and the next day it is ready to be served. If you forget to unfreeze the meals, you also have the option to microwave it for approximately two minutes.
Lauren valued the instructions on how to introduce the food to my dog, what it will do to his coat, energy level, and bowel movements. She really liked how they gave the ingredients of each meal too, most dog food aren’t that detailed.
So did Spot & Tango pass Roenick’s taste test?
When Lauren opened the box, even when the meals were frozen, he was sniffing it and ready to try it. After a couple of days and getting him use to the food, his breath wasn’t as bad compared to other dog food he has eaten, his bowel movements were healthier-looking, and he drank a lot more water than usual (which is good, because usually it takes encouragement to keep him hydrated).
Most importantly, he loved the taste of the food – he was excited to eat and now he doesn’t beg for human food as much!
Is This The Best Dog Food Delivery Service?
We rate Spot & Tango highly having tried their service.
Their meals passed the taste test with Roenick despite him being a picky eater in the past.
We really like their eco-friendly approach to their service, which is something that really stands out when you’re learning more about the company.

Anything Else To Consider?
You should always consult with your regular veterinarian before switching your dog to a new diet.
It is often a good idea to gradually switch your dog to a new type of food.
