So dog owners can have peace of mind knowing that Puppo is made to the highest standards using whole ingredients.

Their recipes are created with the input of their expert nutrition team, comprised of a doctorates in nutritional biochemistry, food science and animal science.

Puppo will provide a Puppo 101 starter guide to help your pup have a smooth transition to their new food.

How Puppo Works

Puppo will ask dog owners to fill in key details about their dog to allow them to formulate a custom nutrition plan based upon their size, age and activity level.

Their website writes that they make sure your dog gets all the necessary minerals and nutrients based on their age, skin condition and wellness goals. This can vary depending on their stage of life.

Puppo give pet parents the opportunity to disclose if their four-legged friend is sensitive to certain foods such as wheat, corn, soy, grains, dairy, chicken and potatoes.

Their website explains that all their recipes start with meat as the first ingredient and they only use the highest quality, natural ingredients plus vitamins and minerals.

Once Puppo have made your dog’s tailored food, they’ll ship your first delivery direct to your door. Their deliveries are timed with your dog’s eating habits so you’ll never run out.

You can cancel your Puppo subscription at any time so you won’t have to be worried about being tied into a long-term deal.

Ingredients

Puppo offer a range of different recipes from beef, chicken, lamb, pork and fish. However, we were only able to see the ingredients label for the protein source recommended by their nutritionist.

Although I would have liked to have had access to see the ingredients in each of their recipes, Puppo provided detailed information about the lamb recipe they recommended for my Klee Kai.

Puppo’s website tackles the question of the ingredients in their recipes. They write.

Every tailored recipe comes with a full, comprehensive list of all its ingredients. We source only the best ingredients from our trusted network of suppliers and farmers. We leave out the fillers—every ingredient is selected for a specific nutritional purpose—and we never include corn, wheat, soy-protein, animal by-product meal or artificial preservatives, flavors, or colors.

Meal Preparation

Your first order of Puppo meals come in a bag (that isn’t recyclable, unfortunately). They’ll include guidelines on how much to feed your dog on a daily basis.

For example, Puppo instructed me to feed my 10-pound Alaskan Klee Kai one cup per day. They do add that they’ll follow up with dog owners to make sure the serving size is working out fine.

Price And Delivery

Puppo falls within the same price range as other dry food companies that we’ve previously reviews.

When I filled out their questionnaire, I was informed at the end that I can expect to pay around $21 every three weeks to feed my Klee Kai with Puppo’s healthy meals.

Your deliveries will be sent to you directly so you won’t need to worry about heading to the supermarket, saving your hassle and time.

What Are Customers Saying?

We struggled to find unbiased reviews of Puppo on an independent website. However, Puppo’s website do have a section for testimonials from customers.

Bonnie was delighted to see her dog’s increased energy after making the switch to Puppo:

Buster is eager for longer walks and gets excited when it’s time to go. He’s lost about 3 pounds so far. Bonnie says it’s a relief knowing exactly how much to feed, and she’s thrilled that Buster is jumping on the couch for snuggles again.

Amanda explained how Puppo helped her dog Boo’s coat:

Boo has no more itching around his feet and his hair is coming back beautifully. Boo is also eating his Puppo very well and no digestive issues. He’s even gained about 1 pound! Boo’s vet reports that his weight is looking perfect and that his coat is soft and shiny — no more dry skin.

Any Negatives?

Puppo are a good option for dog parents looking for tailored dry food for their canine companions.

The only real negative is that their meals aren’t pre portioned in pouches like those of some other companies we’ve reviewed.

Is This The Best Dry Food For Dogs?

We consider Puppo to be a solid option for pet parents who want to adopt a fresh approach to their dog’s diet.

Puppo’s tailored meals are created using meat and natural ingredients, so there’s no unwanted additives or nasties.

On a personal note, I was extremely impressed at Puppo’s knowledge of Klee Kai. They provided a lot of information about my dog’s breed and their sensitivity to food.

Puppo Conclusion – Our Final Thoughts

We’ve reached the end of our reviews of Puppo’s customised kibble.

They’re a good option for pet parents who are looking to ditch store-bought dry food in favour of tailored kibble.
