An efficient and powerful vacuum is a must if you have pets.

Whether you own a cat or a dog, you can expect a fair amount of shedding from your furry friend.

Most dogs will be seasonal shedders, although some breeds can shed all year round.

Alternatively, you may have a hypoallergenic dog that doesn’t shed as much. However, that doesn’t mean your canine won’t bring in dirt and debris from outside the home.

Where To Buy: www.Amazon.com

In this article, we’re going to take a look at the Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog Bagless vacuum to see what features the product and what customers are saying about the hoover.

Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog Bagless Vacuum – The Basics

Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog Bagless Vacuum is a bagless cylinder vacuum that is supposedly ideal for pet owners.

Their website explains that this Miele product has the ability to deliver a powerful clean thanks to the Vortex Technology.

They go on to say that their EcoTeQ Plus floorhead will provide exceptional and efficient cleaning.

For pet owners with a high shedding dog, Miele add that their turbo brush will be able to reliably remove hair and lint.

For those with allergies to cats or dogs (something which can affect over 10 per cent of the USA’s population), Miele promise maximum air hygiene thanks to the HEPA AirClean lifetime filter.

Unlike other Miele vacuums that we’ve previously reviewed, the Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog is bagless to allow pet parents to conveniently empty the contents of the waste container.

Design

Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog Bagless Vacuum has one major difference in comparison to the C1 and C3 range.

The hoover doesn’t require a bag so instead their is a waste container located underneath the dial.

Your eyes will be drawn to the toggle in the middle of the machine that allows users to adjust the power. This is smaller than other Miele models.

The foot switch to retract the cable is located to the left underneath the dial that controls the power mode.

To the right of the main dial is the Comfort Clean button, which is a self-cleaning function.

The telescopic tube is stainless steel and is attached to the floor head. The suction tube is located at the top of the machine as opposed to the middle as with the C1 and C3 range.

The Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog bagless vacuum does have a more modern appearance in comparison to other Miele models.

Technology

One of the key features of Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog Bagless Vacuum is the ComfortClean.

Miele’s website explains special sensors measure the air throughput of the GORE® CleanStream® fine dust filter and automatically activate the ComfortClean self-cleaning function as needed.

The Vortex technology produces an enormous flow rate of more than 100 km/h.

Miele go on to say on their Amazon page that combined with the specially designed airtight floor head and the aerodynamic airflow, the bagless vacuum cleaner achieves a first-class cleaning performance.

Given the vacuum is designed with pet owners in mind, Miele have included an upholstery nozzle and crevice nozzle so you can get access all areas in your home.

Miele have also included their EcoComfort handle with integrated dusting brush. In doing so, you’ll be able to seamlessly handle the brush and clean efficiently.

Ease Of Use

We do prefer pet vacuum cleaners that are cordless so you don’t have to worry about cords getting caught on furniture or pets on the move.

The Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog Bagless Vacuum has what they call a comfort cable rewind with single-touch control. You can easily retract the cord using your foot.

The dust container is designed to be removed from the vacuum with one simple motion. By touching one button, the contents will empty out of the bottom of the container and into the trash can.

You’ll have an operating radius of 11 metres thanks to cable, suction tube and suction hose.

If you need a break, you can hook the floor head onto the side of the vacuum cleaner. This allows pet owners to have easy access when it’s time to start cleaning again.

What Are Customers Saying About This Vacuum?

Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog Bagless Vacuum has an average of 4.5 stars out of 5 based upon 47 reviews on online retailer Amazon. 85 per cent of the reviews are positive, but the other 15 per cent are negative.

One Amazon customer revealed that the Miele vacuum helped with her allergies:

My daughter got a graduation puppy present and I got this vacuum. I have not sneezed ONCE and I am allergic to every pet we have ever had… EVERYTHING is gone and we are happy to get on the floor and play with the puppy. There is no dog smell at all in our home, because – guess what – this Miele FILTERS the air as you vac! No asthma act ups, either. I think the air in our home is cleaner from using this vacuum.

Another Amazon reviewer felt that the Miele device outperformed the Dyson Animal model:

Bought this based on the recommendation of a vacuum cleaner repair tech I know. I am not a fan of bagless but this one is awesome. It captures everything and is so quiet. The suction is fantastic, I use it with one of the brushes to remove heavy dust from our blinds and fans with ease. It handles the dog hair that my Dyson Animal couldn’t without clogging. I am amazed at what this thing can do. You will not be dissapointed.

However, one customer left a one-star review following a disappointing experience with the product:

Very poor suction overall. Powerhead brush stopped spinning on third swipe right out of the box, help manual says this means it overheated or filter clogged. Would not pickup dog hair, even on few swipes when powerhead brush was working. Very expensive mistake.

So there you have it, we’ve reached the end of our review of the Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog Bagless Vacuum.

The product does a good job in home with pets, with the upholstery tool given dog owners the chance to clean furniture too.

With an operating radius of 11 metres, you should be able to hoover without too many issues.

However, it isn’t cordless and you may find an upright or stick pet vacuum easier to use.
