Are you a dog owner living in a busy city?
Travelling with your dog on the bus or train can be a tricky experience, especially if your four-legged friend is a small breed.
While you might try your best to avoid rush hour when there’s an increased footfall on the streets and at stations, life – or more accurately, work – can sometimes get in the way.
Your fellow commuters may mean well when they ask to say hello to your dog, but it’s easy for some of our more shy four-legged friends to become overwhelmed by a packed train.
Our dogs can’t be blamed for being a little skittish when the hustle and bustle of city life reaches its crescendo at the end of a long day of work when everyone is rushing home.

K9 Sports Sack – The Basics
If you live in a busy city and find it difficult to walk your dog through the bustling streets, you may want to consider the K9 Sports Sack.
It’s grey in color with lots of ventilation on either side to ensure your pooch doesn’t overheat.
If you’re worried about your dog squeezing out of the bag, you don’t need to fret. It has five different safety/fail-safe features to keep your canine companion safe.
It includes a sternum strap with a whistle clip – too.
As Skye and Copper were between sizes, we were able to avail of the K9 Booster Block.
As an owner of two Alaskan Klee Kai, I found it challenging to travel around London with Copper and Skye. They’re not more than 10 inches tall, so it doesn’t take much for them to be overwhelmed on busy platforms or busy streets.
I wanted to find a solution where I could carry one of my dogs and walk the other to make life a little easier and more efficient. That’s how I came across the K9 Sports Sack. Having previously seen a Corgi in New York City commute in a backpack, I was intrigued by the idea.
The K9 Sports Sack came with thorough instructions on how get your dog acclimated to the bag. This is something I didn’t rush knowing my dogs. I put lots of treats in the bag each day and left it in places where Copper and Skye like to relax.
After a couple of weeks, I got my oldest Klee Kai Skye to explore the bag with her nose, sit in the bag or lie down on the bag while giving her treats.
To my surprise, the first time I actually secured her in the bag she didn’t put up any resistance. Klee Kai are often compared to cats due to their love of sitting in elevated places around the home. Skye loved her perch in the K9 Sports Sack with her booster block to provide extra comfort.
Our first adventure into inner London was a big success. I travelled into London Bridge on the train and Skye was happy to look out the window from the comfort of the bag. We switched onto the London Underground and again, Skye was in her element.
I’m accustomed to getting a lot of attention with my dogs due to Alaskan Klee Kai being a rare breed. But I found having Skye on my back actually meant we got less attention as she wasn’t easily visible given I’m a 6ft 2ins guy.
This is sports sack will make me more likely to bring Skye into London for meetings from now on. She’s clearly comfortable in the bag, while I’ve got peace of mind knowing she won’t be trampled on. The design of the sack is stylish and it’s no different to any other rucksack I’d usually use to store my laptop and notebook when I head into the capital.
It gets full marks from both Skye and I.

A German dog owner was delighted with the K9 Sports Sack.
We bought this for our dog who can be a bit anxious when walking around at Fests and events. Specifically for visiting the Christmas markets in Germany, due to the large crowds. It worked wonderfully and we got so many compliments and nice laughs all while our pup enjoyed being with us instead of being home alone. Easy to get him in and out.
A pet parent said it was perfect for their Dachshund.
We’ve used the pack several times for our Doxie and it’s been great. He’s very comfortable in the pack and it’s pretty comfortable for us too. He has actually fallen asleep in the pack while on our back so I think it will be used for many years to come.
An Amazon user liked the fact that her dog is forward facing in the K9 Sports Sack.
I’m so happy I bought this backpack for Bailey. I bought it for her final size so I didn’t get to use it for awhile. As soon as she could fit in it (on a couple lift blocks) I started to take her for walks in it to get acclimated to it. Super easy to use and the straps are comfortable. I like that she faces the same direction I face.
