Easy DNA establish the difference between an allergy and intolerance test in cats on their website.

The reaction to allergies is more severe than intolerances and it is usually felt immediately. Intolerances are usually less severe and can change over time. In addition, the symptoms of an intolerance are not immediate, manifesting anywhere from 10 minutes to 48 hours after the food has been consumed.

They go on to add that a food intolerance is a non-immunologic adverse reaction to any digested food.

Pet parents will receive a report that details any intolerances that your cat has to the items tested.

How Does It Work?

Unlike Easy DNA’s Dog Allergy Test, they won’t send out a testing kit. This is important to note.

Cat owners should find it relatively simple to collect the sample.

Pet parents should make a note of their personal case reference code (in case you need to contact Easy DNA once you’ve sent your sample).
