On online retailer Amazon, it gets 3.8 stars out of 5 based upon over 1,100 customer reviews.

One Amazon reviewer with two Golden Retrievers revealed that her Bissell collects enough pet hair to create two more Golden Retrievers!

We remove enough fur/hair to build two more Golden Retrievers!! The suction of the Bissell is well above what we experienced before and again the incredibly easy hair/fur removal a joy to behold. Removing the dust/dirt and fur is a piece of cake. You just have to make sure you hold the canister well into the trash can when you push the button releasing the bottom door and dumpling immediately the fur and dirt.

One customer was pleased with the performance but felt the vacuum was a tad heavy.

I’m extremely pleased that the hair from our Sheltie doesn’t wrap around the roller brush like our Hoover Steerable..but WOW this vacuum is heavy compared to the other vacuums I’ve had and isn’t as easy to maneuver as my Hoover.

Finally, one disappointed customer was disappointed with the vacuum’s performance.

I’m so disappointed I searched for the best vacuum for homes with pets. (1 dog & 1 cat) I read reviews and had chosen this one to be the best for our home. It’s sucks!! And not in a good way, it will not pick up anything off wood, tile or low carpet floors. I had to vacuum the wood and carpet with the hand attachment because the roller just shot out the dirt and wouldn’t pick it up.

The biggest negative that we came across during our research is the weight of the machine. Pet parents felt the vacuum was quite a bit heavier than other models.

Furthermore, the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser 1650A isn’t cordless. So you don’t have as much freedom as you would with other stick or upright vacuum cleaners.

Is this the best pet vacuum cleaner?

But there are some drawbacks with regards to the machine, such as the cord and the weight.

Some cat or dog owners may prefer a vacuum without a cord to make life that little bit easier.
