Devon holiday company Lakeview Manor is hiring a holiday home tester that comes with a caveat – they must be a canine.

The role is perfect for a (doggy) applicant who would love to swap suburbia for long walks in wild woods and pretty coastlines, and who can reliably sniff out the best places for a belly rub and cosy nap.

The role has been created because, with plans to build 18 more holiday homes next year, Lakeview Manor is keen to make sure dogs have the best time possible in the lodges when they come to stay.

A spokesperson from Lakeview Manor, said:

We are passionate about delivering a wonderful experience for our holiday home owners, whether they are humans or dogs! Our holiday homes have 365 days a year access, and being able to bring your dog along for a holiday whenever you want is much easier and nicer for both pet and owner.

Our lakeside lodges offer a scintillating home-from-home for dogs, with woods, lakes, beaches and moors to explore right on the doorstep. Due to demand, we are building 18 more holiday homes by our lake, and we hope our new canine recruit will help us by giving us some very important feedback about how the holiday homes work for them, as well as their owners, which we can incorporate into our planning.

The company is looking to hire a pooch to perform some very important feedback tasks that must be completed whilst staying at their lakeside lodge, including:

• Finding the best spot in the lodge for a lovely belly scratch
• Taking a walk on the dog-friendly trails in Lakeview Manor’s grounds
• Find the best place for fetching sticks at Lakeview Manor
• Taking a walk in the local area, such as Lyme Regis or the Blackdown Hills

The successful pet and their owners will receive up to a two-week free stay at a beautiful lakeside lodge in Devon (complete with hot-tub – for humans only!) There is a £300 fee available as well, and in return all the pooch and owner need to do is complete the tasks, and answer some simple feedback questions.

Applications are open to UK residents and will close on 15th November 2020, you can find full details on how to apply here: www.lakeviewmanor.co.uk/lodges/dog-hire
