The Goldendoodle originated in the 1990s when Golden Retrievers were combined with Poodles to create an eager-to-please, intelligent and low-shedding dog. The idea was to create a service dog with hypoallergenic qualities so they could help people with disabilities or service needs but with allergies to dogs.
